Meet Your Teacher: Chef Safiyah Mariyah

Safiyah Mariyah is a Jamaican-Mauritian plant-based chef and food creative, raised in North West London. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu London, she’s the founder of SMCO, a plant-based catering company, and the soulful supper club series Saf’s.

With deep ties to her heritage and a passion for community through food, Safiyah’s cooking is a celebration of culture, healing, and creativity. Her work is inspired by the ancestral knowledge of her Rastafarian grandfather and her studies in herbalism and yoga—bringing a holistic and conscious approach to every plate she creates.

Through her classes, catering, and private chef experiences, Safiyah continues to inspire others to see plant-based food not just as nourishment, but as a joyful act of connection.
